Mary Lois Granger papers, 1918-1935.

This collection consists of first manuscripts of her published novels, manuscripts of unpublished novels, essays, drama, scenarios written while at Barnard College, and correspondence of and papers relating to her father, Harvey Granger. Many of these concern the development of highways, notably the Atlantic Coastal Highway. The addendum to this collection relates to interracial cooperation and consists of correspondence, pamphlets, and notes concerning race relations.

Mary Lois Granger (ca. 1897-1970), a native of Savannah, daughter of Harvey Granger, was a novelist, poet and essayist. She published three novels: Widow of Ephesus (New York, Putnam, 1926), Wife to Pilate (New York, Payson & Clark Ltd., 1929) and Lucy and Three (New York, Brewer & Warren, 1930).
